DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

UW Medicine's Revenue Integrity Department is a shared services organization, which supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine entities include but are not limited to UW Medical Center (UWMC), Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW School of Medicine, Northwest Hospital, UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC) and UW Physicians.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

Under the general direction of the Manager, Revenue Integrity, the Revenue Integrity Analyst, has primary responsibility for the on-going accuracy and integrity of charges. This position is responsible for service lines including Infusion, Nutrition, OB/GYN, Reproductive Care, Woman's Health Clinic, Special Programs, Specialty Clinic, and Urology. This includes, but not limited to, knowledge and application of applicable laws and regulations, as well as working within UW Medicine to ensure process standardization and quality controls across assigned books of business.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assume Accountability and Monitor Key Metrics (Annual Charge Utilization, Monthly Revenue, Denials, Late/Missing Charges, administrative write-offs, and utilization by book of business
  • Identify charge capture/reimbursement issues and resolutions using available mechanisms [Epic BOE SSRS reports, Revenue Guardian, etc.
  • Perform analysis and troubleshooting for charge capture / missing charge resolution and denial mitigation
  • Implement and maintain reports and work lists using various software applications such as Epic (Cogito), BOE, Visio, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access
  • Collaborates with internal customers to assess information requirements and develop special custom and production reports to meet those needs
  • Develops and maintains reports and performing analysis that allows Revenue Integrity to identify trends and provide feedback to help improve overall performance of Revenue Integrity Department and Enterprise Revenue Cycle


REQUIREMENTS
  • Knowledge and experience with Medicare/Medicaid and CMS regulations
  • 4 years of Epic Experience and experience providing training to clinical operations
  • Experience with ICD 10/ HCPCS/ CPT codes
  • Coding credential CCS, COC, RHIT, RHIA or ability to obtain coding credentials within the 12 months of hire.
  • At least 8+ years' experience in the healthcare industry. Understanding of hospital billing or reimbursement and charge capture operations. Understanding of CMS regulations and ability to interpret healthcare guidelines and regulations. 4 years of Epic experience.
  • Proven analytical, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirement


Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:
$81,780.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$122,676.00 annual
