The Business Process Consultant plays a pivotal role in the Revenue Cycle Operational Transformation by serving as a subject matter expert and change agent within the organization. This position is integral to the shift toward a Center of Excellence model, supporting the development and implementation of standardized practices and procedures across the revenue cycle. Consultants analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes, research best practices, and recommend sustainable improvements that enhance safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
Their work includes benchmarking, process analysis, reengineering, and change management, all aimed at driving operational excellence and supporting large-scale transformation initiatives. By collaborating with regional and central business offices, as well as practice management teams, Business Process Consultants facilitate seamless integration, optimize workflows, and promote knowledge sharing across diverse practices. Their expertise is crucial in supporting technology transitions, such as the implementation of new practice management systems, and in ensuring that transformation efforts align with enterprise goals and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the Business Process Consultant helps foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability, which is essential for achieving the strategic objectives of revenue cycle transformation.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with Practice Operations and Revenue Cycle leadership, project champions, and process owners to embrace change management initiatives, operationalize key projects and deliver results that are sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable
- Facilitate complex meetings, presentations, and trainings with varied audiences across all levels of management
- Engage in onsite visits to locations across the United States to collaborate on and resolve complex workflow challenges across the Regional Billing Offices and practices
- Collaborate with corporate teams to drive innovation operational transformation
- Support system training initiatives and participate in curriculum development
- Develop and publish workflow documentation (Reference Guides, Job Aids, SOPs, etc.)
- Serve as a trusted advisor to members of Regional Billing Offices, Practice Operations and Revenue Cycle Leaders
- Monitor and communicate the results of process improvement projects/initiatives to management and the Executive Leadership Teams
Minimum Requirement- BS Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
Critical Skills- Experience leading projects and collaborating with stakeholders
- Subject matter expert in Revenue Cycle Operations (Patient Facing and Non-Patient Facing)
- DX Experience - Agent of change and transformation
- Experience coaching others in process improvement frameworks
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Process improvement and workflow development experience
- Data Analysis experience- Identify sources for, gather and analyze data relevant to process change initiatives
Additional Skills- Experience working with Athena IDX (Centricity Business) and Centricity Practice (G4)
- Experience working with iKnowMed (G2) - Preferred
- Six Sigma Certification - Preferred
