Overview

The ONSITE Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the revenue cycle, ensuring accurate and timely billing, collections, and workflow execution. This role focuses on team performance, operational efficiency, and effective use of technology and AI tools to support revenue integrity. **This role will be based in Livingston, NJ 4 days a week (1 day remote). Interviews will take place in Verona, NJ.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to):
  • Manage day-to-day revenue cycle operations, including charge entry, billing, payment posting, denial management, and collections
  • Oversee patient balance management, including internal collections workflows and coordination with external collection agencies
  • Supervise, train, and support staff to meet productivity and quality standards
  • Manage employee performance, including setting expectations, conducting regular coaching and performance feedback, and addressing performance concerns in partnership with Director, Revenue Cycle & HR.
  • Ensure effective use of revenue cycle systems, including EHR/PM platforms and AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., athenaOne and Arintra), to support accurate charge capture and workflow efficiency
  • Monitor and manage work queues (claims edits, denials, missing charges, zero-pay accounts)
  • Perform quality assurance audits to ensure coding, billing, and documentation accuracy
  • Identify and resolve workflow issues, bottlenecks, and backlogs
  • Support an automation-first, exception-based workflow model, ensuring staff focus on high-value and complex accounts rather than routine processing
  • Track and report on key operational metrics (AR, denials, productivity, collections)
  • Collaborate with leadership and other departments to ensure workflows are followed and optimized
  • Support implementation of new processes, system updates, and AI-driven workflows
  • Stay current on payer requirements, coding updates, and reimbursement changes
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 7+ years of revenue cycle or medical billing experience
  • 3-5+ years of management experience
  • Experience in physician practice or healthcare environment
  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and payer requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Hybrid, in-office ~4 days per week (Livingston, NJ)/remote setting, with extended periods of sitting and computer work.
  • Collaborative, fast-paced revenue cycle team supporting multiple providers and specialties.
  • Travel required as needed.

  • The anticipated base annual salary for this role ranges from $105,000-$120,000.
  • This position offers an opportunity for annual target bonus based on individual performance and company financial performance.
