Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Manager to lead our Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing and revenue cycle operations. This role is responsible for overseeing billing workflows, payor follow-up, denial management, collections support, reporting, process improvement, and team performance. The Revenue Cycle Manager will play a key role in both day-to-day revenue cycle operations and the continued expansion of RS Medical into new insurance-billed markets, including workers' compensation, PIP, USDOL, Medicare, and commercial insurance programs.

This is a highly collaborative leadership role that partners closely with Billing, Sales, Operations, Finance, Compliance, IT, and Customer Service to improve reimbursement outcomes, optimize processes, and support company growth. The position includes direct people leadership responsibilities.

*Candidates must reside in Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR metropolitan area. This is a hybrid position. We're excited to welcome local talent or those already planning a move; however, this position does not include relocation support*

What You'll Do
  • Lead RS Medical's DME billing and revenue cycle operations, overseeing workflows from order validation through billing, payor follow-up, denials, appeals, collections support, refunds, and cash posting.
  • Hire, coach, develop, and manage billing team members to build a high-performing department.
  • Establish team goals, priorities, and performance expectations while maintaining accountability for productivity, quality, collections, denial management, and aging metrics.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key revenue cycle metrics including denial trends, aging reports, outstanding claims, payor performance, team productivity, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Develop and maintain billing procedures, work instructions, quality controls, and training materials to ensure consistent and compliant operations.
  • Analyze workflows, identify root causes of billing challenges, and implement improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, compliance, and reimbursement performance.
  • Partner with Sales, Sales Operations, Shipping, Customer Service, Compliance, Finance, and IT teams to resolve billing issues and improve reimbursement outcomes.
  • Support billing system enhancements, reporting development, automation opportunities, workflow configuration, and user training initiatives.
  • Lead billing readiness efforts for new insurance-billed markets and expansion states, adapting processes to meet evolving payor requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Help establish scalable billing processes for Medicare, commercial insurance, workers' compensation, PIP, USDOL, and other payor programs.


Requirements

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare billing, revenue cycle management, medical claims reimbursement, or related healthcare operations.
  • Prior experience managing medical billing teams and revenue cycle functions.
  • Strong knowledge of DME billing, payor reimbursement processes, and healthcare claims management.
  • Experience working with multiple payor types, including workers' compensation, PIP, Medicare, commercial insurance, USDOL, or similar healthcare programs.
  • Proven ability to analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, implement change, and train teams on new procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience working with billing metrics, denial trends, aging reports, and management reporting.
  • Experience using billing systems and Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate or advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively partner across departments and influence outcomes.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and hold teams accountable.

Highly Preferred
  • Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing experience.
  • Experience leading revenue cycle operations in a regulated healthcare environment.
  • Experience supporting market expansion initiatives and adapting billing operations to new payor requirements.
  • Experience with workflow automation, reporting development, and billing system optimization.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, or related process improvement certifications.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The following requirements represent the essential functions of the role:

General office environment that will include frequent or continuous periods of talking, sitting, fingering, repetitive motions of the hands/wrists, reaching, grasping, and handling. This position also requires occasional bending, squatting, standing, and walking. Pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 20 pounds is required on an occasional basis. Good general vision and hearing are needed.
