Full Job Description
Our Legacy Retro and Transactions team is looking for a great candidate to be a part of the team within Property & Casualty (P&C) Reinsurance Operations!

About the Role

This team is responsible for managing Swiss Re's retrocession, including but not limited to client management and financial/regulatory reporting.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Identify, calculate, account, bill and drive collections for significant payables and receivables
  • Primary point of contact for external retro clients. Work with clients and Swiss Re claims to substantiate and collect open balances and resolve queries.
  • Prepare required financial, regulatory and management reports
  • Participate in process development and improvement projects
  • Responsible for the daily review, identification and allocation of cash
  • Administration of external run-off transactions


About the Team

Legacy Retro and Transactions is a dynamic team, within P&C Operations, that owns and manages the Swiss Re retro portfolio. The team supports both pre and post transactions administration as well as traditional retro by reviewing inwards transactions and identifying, calculating, booking, reporting (financial and regulatory) and collecting the retro asset. We work extensively with Swiss Re clients and brokers to substantiate our claims and to create productive relationships. We are involved in setting up new contracts as well as working on external run-off transactions.

The successful candidate will be a proactive professional who performs effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment. They will demonstrate a positive, solution-oriented approach, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to partner effectively with others. Strong organizational skills, sound prioritization, and effective management of multiple responsibilities will be essential to meeting deadlines. The candidate should also possess strong attention to detail and the ability to research specific nuances as needed.

Additional requirements include:

  • College degree strongly preferred
  • 3 years' experience in a finance, accounting or an operations role
  • Reinsurance/insurance accounting experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, required
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills


Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office three days per week. This role is not eligible for either relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $84,000 to $140,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
