Full-Time Day Respiratory Therapist - RWJBarnabas Health
A typical day for a Full-Time Day Respiratory Therapist may include:
  • Providing basic and advanced respiratory therapy treatments for patients across a variety of inpatient care settings.
  • Assessing patients' respiratory status and developing appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Transcribing and implementing physician orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Administering oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, airway management, and other respiratory care procedures.
  • Monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting mechanical ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
  • Performing patient assessments and responding promptly to changes in respiratory condition.
  • Educating patients and families on respiratory treatments, equipment, and disease management.
  • Documenting patient care, assessments, and treatment outcomes in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members to provide exceptional patient care.
