Respiratory Care Practitioners. Respiratory Care Practitioners administer a full range of respiratory therapy services to assess patients with serious respiratory compromise. Duties include performing and evaluating pertinent diagnostic test results; developing care plans and performing necessary interventions; evaluating outcomes and adjusting respiratory care to achieve patient care goals; and handling difficult respiratory management cases.

Respiratory Care Practitioners have an opportunity to participate in the Clinical Ladder. The program provides an opportunity to earn additional compensation as Respiratory Care Practitioners progress up the clinical ladder and continue to advance and develop their clinical knowledge and skills while providing direct patient care.

Minimum RequirementsCandidates must meet ALL of the following:LICENSE: Must possess and maintain a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the California State Respiratory Care Board.
CREDENTIAL: Must possess and maintain a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
CERTIFICATION: Must possess Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Desired QualificationsAt least one (1) year of full-time work experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in an acute care setting is highly desirable.
