Responsibilities

Ready to make an impact! Peraton is seeking motivated Satellite Operations Controller & Resource Scheduler in Colorado Springs, Colorado to support our Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program, and to provide satellite support service to our mission critical Government customer. This position performs satellite operations and health checks on satellite systems.

 

FROST conducts real time on-orbit support, launch ascent support and End-of-Life operations for all NOPS supported operations. You will provide the NRO with a single operational and engineering interface to the Satellite Control Network (SCN).  The work is performed at Schriever Garrison. 

 

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following

  • Establishing voice, messaging, and data communications for multiple-satellite programs of varying priorities and classifications.
  • Configuration and monitoring of displays for computer and network equipment during normal mission operations.
  • Multi-program coordination and scheduling using custom software tools.
  • Determination of any anomalous condition and providing corrective actions as required.
  • Generation of downtime reports and other associated documentation for operational outages.
  • Support to various operations status, engineering review, and problem boards.
  • Identification of areas of concern, issues, inefficiencies, and other non-value-added activities, as well as proved recommended solutions, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate, negotiate, and produce a conflict free executable NOPS OPS Schedule.
  • Receive and process user requests for support during current and future scheduling periods.
  • Develop and execute re-planning schedule strategies whenever vehicle emergencies, RGF outages, or other factors dictate changes to the planned schedule.
  • Supporting site operations to ensure quality, safety, and compliance requirements are maintained as described in the Performance Work Statement (PWS)/Statement of Work (SOW), site specific Occupational Safety and Health Administration publications, and local/state policies/regulations. 
  • Supporting the FROST Managers to ensure a collaborative relationship is maintained with our Prime and government customer.
  • Support Peraton RFI, proposal, and ECP growth opportunities by providing Space Engineering and Resource Scheduling SME inputs.

 

FROST mission critical support requires maintaining a team presence 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week, and 365/366 days per year, including federal holidays

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must have an active TS/SCI with a POLY
  • 2 years with BS/BA; 4 years with AS/AA; 6 years with no degree and at least 3 years of related Space Operations experience, including military or civilian training and experience.
  • Must be certified as Operations Controller. 
  • Able to work shifts as required to support mission operations.
  • Must be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.  
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.

Target Salary Range$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
