Full Job Description
The Resource Planning & Readiness Manager is responsible for ensuring Resource Plans are complete, accurate, approved, and staffing-ready before transitioning to the Resource Management team. This role serves as the governance point between Sales, Delivery, Practice Leadership, and Resource Management, ensuring opportunities have validated resource requirements, aligned forecasts, and required approvals before staffing begins.

By improving Resource Plan quality and pipeline readiness, this role enables the Senior Resource Manager to focus on staffing strategy, resource allocation, and deployment, ensuring resource plans are in their best state prior to beginning the staffing process.
Why This Role Matters

This role improves staffing efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and resource utilization by ensuring every opportunity entering the staffing process has:
  • Complete and accurate Resource Plans
  • Validated roles and skill requirements
  • Required leadership approvals
  • Alignment between all tools, including Salesforce forecasts and Resource Plans
  • Early visibility into niche skill and/or contractor demand

The result is faster staffing decisions, reduced rework, and improved forecast reliability across the services organization.

Core Responsibilities
Resource Plan Governance
  • Own the Resource Plan (RP) review, validation, and approval process prior to staffing.
  • Validate proposed roles, skills, staffing assumptions, and effort estimates for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure all required Practice Leader approvals are obtained, including multi-cloud or cross-practice Resource Plans.
  • Confirm Resource Plans remain synchronized with Salesforce forecasts, estimators, and opportunity updates.
  • Identify scope changes or forecast misalignment and coordinate updates before opportunities reach Commit or Closed Won.
Opportunity Readiness
  • Review opportunities for staffing readiness and ensure resource requirements accurately reflect delivery scope.
  • Challenge unclear, uncommon, or inconsistent role requests by partnering with Sales Engineering, Account Executives, Delivery, and Practice Leadership to clarify staffing needs.
  • Identify specialty skill requirements, contractor demand, and upcoming capacity needs, providing Resource Management with early visibility.
  • Monitor pipeline health and proactively identify staffing risks before they impact delivery timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Delivery, Practice Leadership, Operations, and Resource Management for Resource Plan readiness.
  • Meet regularly with Resource Management to review pipeline readiness, high-priority opportunities, staffing risks, and upcoming demand.
  • Partner with Operations to initiate consultant background checks or other pre-deployment requirements when applicable.
  • Support the Resource Management team throughout the staffing process by ensuring opportunity information remains accurate and current as deals progress.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in resource management, staffing, deployment, workforce planning, or professional services operations within a consulting or technology services organization.
  • Experience working within the Salesforce ecosystem or another software and technology services environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Salesforce platform and professional services delivery lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of professional services resource planning, capacity management, and staffing processes.
  • Broad understanding of Salesforce consulting roles and technical skill sets to effectively validate project resource requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the confidence to challenge assumptions and resolve inconsistencies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Directors and senior leaders across Sales, Delivery, and Operations.
  • Comfortable operating in a growing organization where processes continue to evolve and improve.
