GFT is seeking a Resident Engineer - Roadway & Bridges to join our Construction Services Team in Chicago, IL. This role requires regular attendance at our Chicago, IL office.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
- Prepares and monitors project schedules.
- Performs periodic construction observation and inspection.
- Possesses basic surveying interpretation skills.
- Prepares reports and correspondence.
- Prepares and checks quantities for measurement and payment
- purposes.
- Prepares construction payment applications.
- Negotiates and prepares construction change orders.
- Reviews submittals and other technical data.
- Proficient with construction management software for document
- management and scheduling.
- Performs constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
- Assists with Risk Management assessments.
- Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
What you will bring to our firm:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- Professional Engineering License.
- 7+ years’ experience.
- IDOT Documentation Certification, required.
- Experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
- 10-hour OSHA Safety course.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Compensation:The salary range for this role is $98,000 - $140,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
