Responsibilities

  • Own customer relationships at DRE/D&R levels, representing their interests
  • Lead Engineering PMS Work Packages and oversee Customer Engineering Milestones
  • Support APQP initiatives alongside Program and Account Managers
  • Prepare and present technical reviews and pursue future business opportunities
  • Ensure EBOM meets quality, cost, and delivery targets during product development
  • Support customer program meetings when required
  • Develop specific APQP documents and execute risk management strategies
  • Facilitate prototype builds and technical discussions on-site with customers
  • Coordinate physical testing requirements with DVP&R standards
  • Ensure product designs comply with Statement of Work requirements
  • Address customer warranty issues with future technical solutions
  • Oversee internal and external change management processes
  • Provide support during product launches at both customer and internal plants.

Full Job Description
Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Engineer - Product (CEP) the Resident Engineer is the principal point of contact to the customers for all technical items related to product development.

Main responsabilities:
  • Owns customer relationship at DRE / D&R level and provides high level customer representation
  • Lead Engineering PMS Work Packages and Customer Engineering Milestones
  • Core team member of APQP supporting the Program Manager, Account Manager, to ensure the delivery of customer and internal deliverables
  • Leading the preparation and presentation of customer technical reviews and future business opportunities business awards.
  • Ensures engineering bill of materials (EBOM) meets QCD targets throughout product development and launch process.
  • Support customer program meetings as requested.
  • Responsible for leading development of specific APQP documents
  • Responsible for risk management utilizing DFMEA and DVP&R
  • Prototype build support as needed on-site with customer build support or problem resolution
  • Coordinate physical testing requirements in alignment with DVP&R
  • Lead technical discussions with customers and liaise with the UAD as necessary to ensure all technical requirements are understood and delivered. Report on technical progress and design issues, through written technical reports.
  • Ensures product design meets SOW requirements.
  • Review customer warranty issues and ensure these are addressed in future technical solutions.
  • Support IP, Warranty, and VAVE activity
  • Responsible for internal and customer change management execution
  • Launch support as required at customer and internal plants
