Full Job Description
Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) is seeking a qualified Resident Construction Manager for sanitary sewer pumping station facility construction projects in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area. The RCM is responsible for providing daily construction management and inspection services for pumping station facilities including new construction and rehabilitation or upgrades including mechanical, electrical and pump control systems and related yard piping and civil site improvements. Responsibilities: • Performing full time, on-site construction management and supervision of multi-disciplined inspection personnel and daily inspection documentation to monitor the contractor's work for compliance with the contract documents • Reviewing daily reports and preparing weekly status reports on work accomplished by Contractor(s) • Coordinating and observing materials testing and maintaining testing logs • Reviewing Contractor pay estimates for accuracy • Preparing sketches and assembling data for Owner or Engineer's use in making changes to the project • Keeping diaries and making reports on work accomplished and/or noted deficiencies • Communicating with the Engineer, Owner and Operations Personnel on a regular basis, keeping them apprised of field conditions, changes and maintaining effective communications and rapport with the Facility Owner and the entire construction project team throughout the construction phase Qualifications: • Must have a minimum of 15 years of demonstrated experience as a Resident Construction Manager on sanitary sewer pumping stations (100+ MGD) with construction value ($50M- $100M range) • Must have an Associates Degree in Construction Management or Civil/Environmental Engineering; Bachelor's Degree (BSCE) preferred • Must have a proven track record of successfully completing construction assignments on-time and within budget • Familiarity w/ Primavera P6 or Microsoft construction scheduling software • Familiarity with construction management software including Oracle Unifier, e-Builder or Procore. • OSHA safety training and/or certification 30-Hour, preferred • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical and pump control systems • Sediment & erosion control certification • Material testing certifications desirable including WACEL or MARCTP • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) • Certified Construction Quality Manager (CQM) • Proficiency with MS Windows, Project, Word and Excel • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal communication • Clean driving record and background check Physical Requirements (Essential Functions): This position requires the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field as part of the essential job functions. Duties may include: • Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, steep hillsides, heavily wooded areas, and other unpaved surfaces • Moving around active project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles • Performing physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing • Remaining in a stationary position-either standing or sitting-for extended periods of time • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers • Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and/or carting objects up to 50 lbs distances up to 50 yards. • Driving to and from project sites which may involve distances of up to or exceeding 75 miles round trip. • Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks, including, but not limited to those described in this document. The work environment may include exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements. Work may also be performed in noisy conditions or confined/enclosed spaces. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
