Overview/Summary: Our Client is a global professional services firm that provides engineering, design, construction, and consulting solutions across infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, energy, water, and government sectors.
We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Night Shift Construction Manager for the Aseptic Production 1 Building (AP1) in Clayton, NC, who thrives when people are in sync and construction projects are running like they should. You will take the lead on daily coordination of night shift field activities, collaborating with the day shift team for shift turnover, ensuring work quality, and leading the night shift team. Most importantly, you'll take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of our team and our planet. As a passionate leader, you'll leverage your people management skills to help your team members succeed.
Here's what you'll need:
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or equivalent
years of experience in lieu of degree
• At least 15+ years of construction site experience
• At least 15+ years of experience as a general foreman, superintendent, and/or
construction manager
• A strong focus on Construction Safety Culture and a "Safety First" mindset
• Experience with managing multi-discipline, large-scale Construction Projects or similar
management of small to mid-cap project portfolio in the Life Science Industry
• Experience with field supervision of craft, particularly MEP trades.
• Experience coordinating and planning pipe pressure test, flushing, cleaning, passivation,
blowdown, and drying activities.
• Experience with coordinating construction activities across multi-disciplines and
subcontractors
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to coordinate internally, with
multiple subcontractors, and with client personnel about construction activities,
schedules, sequencing, and facilitating conflict and handling resolutions to progress the
work
• Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing/reporting
• Knowledge of the commissioning and qualification process as it specifically relates to
MEP systems
Ideally, you'll also have:
• Demonstrated working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building
systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods,
team building and client relationship building.
• Advanced knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems,
architectural systems, clean room systems, and general construction processes
• Working knowledge of cleanroom and GMP systems in a pharma environment
• Knowledge and experience with implementation of LEAN strategies and technologies in
project execution, including; Last Planner System (LPS), 5S Construction and off-site
manufacturing (OSM) construction, including use of LPS software; familiarity with
vPlanner, Hoylu or other LPS software's
• Knowledge and familiarity with reviewing and executing to project schedules in Primavera
P6 format and Last Planner (vPlanner) format.
• Working knowledge in construction project sequencing and ability to utilize 3D
technologies such as Navisworks, Revizto, BIM360, REVIT or other
• Life Science industry experience
Physical requirements:
• Working extended hours to support field supervision and sometimes under extreme
temperature and weather conditions
• Stamina to walk large job sites, climb stairs or ladders and remain on your feet for
extended periods
• Ability to move and balance around construction sites, including uneven terrain,
scaffolding, or tight spaces
• Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed to inspect work or access
certain areas
• Not always required but ability to lift moderate weights (up to 40lbs.) to move materials
or equipment
• Good vision is essential for reading drawings, inspecting work, and ensuring safety
compliance
• Strong hearing in order to be fully aware of your surroundings
• Manual dexterity to handle tools or equipment with precision and control for inspections
and daily tasks
• Coordinating and managing multiple tasks and safety standards
