Saturn has an opportunity for a full time
Reservoir Engineer based in the
Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Manager of Development Engineering, the successful candidate will be a technical expert supporting the Company's asset teams for all subsurface needs, including waterflood. There will be an opportunity to work across multiple plays, such as the Mississippian, Bakken, Torquay, Oungre, Viking, Cardium, Montney, Shaunavon, Cantuar, Success and Roseray. The position will be an
intermediate or senior role, depending on the experience/qualifications of the successful candidate.
Some specific duties and responsibilities of the Reservoir Engineer include, but are not limited to:
EOR: Waterflood Evaluation/Implementation/Surveillance/Optimization
- Lead the analysis, implementation, and monitoring of current & future waterflood projects, including newly acquired assets in Southeast Saskatchewan and Manitoba
- Collaborate with Exploitation & Geology to high grade waterflood & other EOR projects
Volumetrics
- Support the area Geologist and Exploitation Engineer with volumetric calculations for the purpose of understanding key parameters such as OOIP, RF, EUR, and type well expectations
- Utilize internal mapping and public data
Reservoir Characterization
- Collaborate with the Geoscience team to understand critical attributes impacting reservoir deliverability and well performance
- Utilize your previous experience to build reservoir models as necessary
Reserves & Resource Management
- Support the Development Engineering Manager during the annual reserves cycle
- Evaluate A&D opportunities as necessary
Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- P.Eng. or P.Tech. with APEGA or APEGS.
- Minimum 5 years of reservoir engineering experience applicable to Saturn's land base, including waterflood management.
- Cross-disciplinary E&P experience is considered an asset, with a good understanding of Development/Exploitation, Production, Operations and Facilities.
- Proficiency in geoSCOUT required with experience in other RE software (e.g. tNavigator, StreamSim) considered an asset.
- Proven record of being technology-enabled with the ability to improve & automate workflows.
- Data-driven individual with exceptional time-management skills that can excel in a fast-paced work environment.
