We'll count on you for:- Underwriting: Focus on underwriting large account new business daily and mining the renewal portfolio, leveraging expertise and sound judgment to select and price risks that align with Berkley One's profitability goals.
- Risk Management Collaboration: Partner with risk management to assess exposures and recommend solutions that enhance the overall quality of the risk.
- Innovation and Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation in underwriting practices and organizational priorities.
- Agent Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with a designated group of agents. Act as a trusted advisor by understanding their needs, coaching on solutions, and fostering loyalty to the Berkley One brand.
- Appetite Consultation: Educate agents on Berkley One's risk appetite and guide them in applying this knowledge to appropriate risk selection.
- Technology Utilization: Use advanced underwriting tools and analytics to monitor portfolio quality and inform individual underwriting decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Distribution and Marketing teams to co-develop strategies that drive business growth and enhance market presence.

QualificationsWhat you'll bring:- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or equivalent professional experience
- Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in high-net-worth personal lines.
- Underwriting Expertise: You have deep technical underwriting competency and love to work on large accounts.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for both insureds and agents, with a passion for delivering an exceptional brand experience and advocating for customer needs.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role include:
• Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $180,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
