The Chemical & Biomolecular Department at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Full time Research Scientist to work in the lab of Professor Juan De Pablo.
Responsibilities
Candidates will be responsible for:
- developing multi-scale modeling methods for polymericmaterials, using advanced computational techniques to investigate their thermodynamic and transport properties and behavior.
- providing presentation of research results at weekly lab meetings and at national or international scientific meetings; including preparation and submission of papers that result in peer-reviewed journals. Liaison with NYU departments or other institutions for collaborative research efforts.
- Assists faculty researcher and other collaborators, or may act independently, in planning and designing research experiments.
- Data collection, processing and analysis. Provide assistance and support in the training of other research staff, graduate or undergraduate students within the lab.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a field related to the research being conducted. The individual must be able to work in a group setting and be able to write up the results in a format suitable for publication as exemplified by a strong publication record. Previous experience in fluids and materials design, biological process control, and complex and dynamical systems is desired.
QualificationsCandidates should have a PhD in Chemical Biology or a related field. We welcome applicants with recent PhDs and individuals seeking additional postdoctoral training. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
Salary rangeIn compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $100,000 depending on the candidate's experience and qualification.
