Research Intern at Fujitsu's Space Data Frontiers Research Center
The Space Data Frontiers Research Center (Space Center) at Fujitsu specializes in pioneering business opportunities in space-related technologies. The center focuses on using AI and advanced computing to process, analyze, and utilize data from space in real-time, aiming to support both Earth-bound industries and future human space exploration.
  • Our internships offer an excellent opportunity to expand your career with hands-on experience and the chance to tackle real-world challenges through deep learning applications addressing urban and social issues ranging from mobility and sustainability to healthcare and beyond. We are seeking individuals who learn quickly, navigate complexity, and bring creativity, passion, and strong communication skills to solving challenges others haven't

    Job responsibilities
    • Develop mathematical optimization and deep learning techniques for hazard-aware evacuation routing/infrastructure planning and emergency policy design under future climate scenario.
    • Collaborate with our team members and external researchers.
    • Publish research in journals and conferences. Transfer the deliverables to patents, conference presentations, and workshops.

Key focus areas
Develop advanced artificial intelligence techniques, including reinforcement learning and inverse reinforcement learning, to analyze and model human mobility patterns. Utilize these insights to optimize hazard-induced emergency planning strategies, making them more realistic and effective for both short-term and long-term future climate scenarios. This work aims to enhance evacuation routing, infrastructure planning, and policy design by integrating human behaviour modelling into emergency response frameworks, ultimately improving outcomes during climate-related or other disaster events.
