The Position
Research Associate III

The Opportunity

This role drives research and development for Ventana projects by designing, executing, and interpreting experiments, with a specific focus on tissue staining and IHC/ISH assay validation using automated slide stainers. Operating within a highly regulated in vitro diagnostics environment, the scientist ensures strict compliance with GMP, GLP, and Design Control standards while maintaining meticulous technical documentation and protocols. Additionally, the position involves leading cross-functional characterization studies, presenting quantitative analyses, and collaborating effectively within a fast-paced SAFe/Agile framework to advance overall product development strategies.

This position is based in Tucson, AZ, on site.

Responsibilities

  • Experimental Execution & Analysis: Designs and conducts complex bench experiments, performs in-depth data analysis, and meticulously maintains accurate laboratory records.
  • Technical Expertise & Problem Solving: Serves as a recognized expert applying independent judgment to troubleshoot complex issues, institute corrective actions, and evaluate data.
  • Reporting & Communication: Authors detailed technical reports and quantitative analyses, and regularly presents experimental procedures and results to project teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Mentorship: Actively contributes to multi-disciplinary core teams, trains colleagues in specialized areas, and establishes effective interfaces across organizational groups.
  • Continuous Improvement & Quality: Works autonomously to innovate solutions, enhance laboratory processes, and champion "Quality First Time" standards.

Who You Are (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in Science.

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knows wide range of experimental techniques and skilled in their applications. Capable with searching scientific literature to gain general and specific information.
  • Skilled with use of word processing, spreadsheets, graphical and presentation software applications.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Arizona is 69 700,00 - 129 400,00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
