Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

The Research and Design (R&D) Engineer will contribute to the research team by developing new and improving existing designs, for Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, and Software Engineering, through the development, analysis, integration and testing of new designs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborates with the research team to investigate, research, and/or develop solutions for a problem or project.
  • Co-operates with various cross-functional teams of peers, customers, and vendors.
  • Participates in the research process from problem identification through final testing for products or processes.
  • Documents written procedures to support requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes used in manufacturing and engineering design of products
  • Proposes, tests, revises, and implements processes and/or corrective actions to resolve or meet the problem or need.
  • Tests processes using prototype equipment and experimental materials and methods.
  • Verifies results for accuracy, significance, and reliability.
  • Drafts and presents recommendations and results.
  • Communicates effectively across all levels of the organization including management, business representatives, peers, customers, and vendors
  • Creates documentation and procedures for developing new and improving existing computerized automated integrated manufacturing systems
  • Interprets data gathered from test results and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Effectively and efficiently organizes, manages, and completes multiple assignments with challenging timelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Chemical (preferred) or (and) Software degree required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates efficiency with modern programming languages
  • Demonstrates effective analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with SEMI Standard GEM/SECs protocol is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of the scientific process and engineering principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software used for testing and reporting.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
TRANSFERRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCES
  • Demonstrates efficiency with modern programming languages
  • Demonstrates effective analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with SEMI Standard GEM/SECs protocol is (strongly) preferred
  • Thorough understanding of the scientific process and engineering principles.
