The OpportunityAs a Graphics Business Manager you will serve as the main point of contact for Smurfit Westrock's graphics capabilities and be responsible for managing and supporting the business needs of your customers. You will provide differentiated service and strategic value to corporate and local customers by proactively identifying customer needs, providing comprehensive integrated graphics solutions, and bringing to bear the products, services, and cross functional expertise of Smurfit Westrock to meet and exceed your customers' needs.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
  • Proactively identify new graphic prospects and applications by leveraging market insights and product expertise to drive graphic-related opportunities aligned with Smurfit Westrock's portfolio.
  • Build and expand a pipeline of graphic-related opportunities in partnership with corrugated sales teams, while ensuring alignment with customer needs and Smurfit Westrock's comprehensive solutions to drive growth, meet customers' business needs, enhance customer engagement, and improve WestRock's position and margin.
  • Create customer growth strategies centered on identified graphics opportunities to drive revenue and/or volume growth within the corporate and local customer base
  • Identify and build relationships with new customers utilizing a strategy based on the full breadth of the Smurfit Westrock graphics portfolio
  • Build and foster relationships throughout the customer organization by delivering high quality products/services, sharing insights, and identifying opportunities to support the customer
  • Anticipate and identify the customer's graphic needs and growth areas, act as the subject matter expert for Smurfit Westrock graphics capabilities
  • Support and lead special graphics projects and efforts driven by the customers or internally, coordinating with other departments to gather data, execute initiatives, and generate insights
  • Communicate the changing needs of customers to internal leadership to ensure Smurfit Westrock solutions align with customers' needs and industry/market trends
  • Orchestrate and coordinate all work required to meet and exceed the customers' needs by engaging Smurfit Westrock cross functional partner
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and Smurfit Westrock to support the graphics needs of the customer
  • Expand expertise through continuous learning, leveraging training, market insights, and best practices to enhance execution and effectiveness


What you need to succeed:
    • Bachelor's degree is preferred
    • Must have at least 5 years of experience in customer service, sales, finance, accounting.
    • Experience selling/presenting to senior management and key decision makers
    • Must have at least 5 years of experience managing clients in a customer-facing business or in a business leadership role. Demonstrated ability to drive new business development
    • Solution/concept sales experience preferred to product sales
    • MS Office Software, Internet-based pipeline management software experience
    • Strong strategic thinking and financial analysis skill sets with an ability to develop and execute strategies and financial plans
    • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills to build relationships, deliver engaging presentations, and convey complex data
    • Proven track record of collaboration within cross functional teams to achieve goals
    • Work experience in packaging industry is preferred
    • Ability to travel required 30-40%
    • Moderate PC skills: i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, search and navigate the internet, Microsoft apps.
    • Maintains relationship with customers and Smurfit Westrock plant personnel.
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) procedures.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to author accurate and concise reports.
