Description

The Remote Sensing Production Lead is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day production of remote sensing deliverables derived from aerial and terrestrial LiDAR and imagery data. This role provides direct leadership to technicians and analysts, ensuring work is executed efficiently, consistently, and to the required quality standards.

The Production Manager is accountable for workload planning, technical oversight, quality assurance, staff development, and production performance across multiple concurrent projects. This role acts as the primary bridge between project management, technical staff, and geospatial leadership to ensure schedules, indirectly budgets, and quality expectations are met.

Requirements

Job Duties:
  • Lead and manage remote sensing production staff, including technicians and analysts, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of project deliverables.
  • Assign work, balance workloads, and monitor production capacity across multiple projects.
  • Serve as the primary technical and production escalation point for analysts and technicians.
  • Oversee post-processing workflows for aerial and terrestrial LiDAR and imagery data from raw data through final client-ready deliverables.
  • Ensure production activities follow internal standards, industry best practices, and project-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Leads and Leadership to align production priorities, schedules, and staffing needs.
  • Conduct and enforce quality control and quality assurance processes across all production outputs.
  • Review and approve deliverables prior to release to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the production team.
  • Support the development, documentation, and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production guidelines.
  • Mentor and develop technical staff through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new production staff.
  • Support data management, storage, and archiving practices to maintain data integrity and accessibility.
  • Remain technically proficient to provide guidance, troubleshooting, and hands-on support when required.
  • Contribute to production efforts as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a related field (e.g., geomatics, surveying, remote sensing).
  • Minimum 3+ years in a senior technical role.
  • ASPRS certifications highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of LiDAR and remote sensing principles and data processing.
  • Proficiency in using Remote Sensing software and tools, such as, TerraSolid, GeoCue, TopoDOT, MetaShape, Photoshop, and PLS-CADD.
  • In depth knowledge of coordinate systems and projections.
  • Industry experience in civil, power generation and delivery, DOT, and renewables.
  • Scripting and light programming knowledge to support automation.
  • Familiarity with surveying techniques and equipment for project control understanding.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends.
