WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORRemote Clinical Support Pharmacist The Clinical Support Pharmacist supports the Vetsource pharmacy workflow by performing initial prescription verification, investigating orders that require clinical intervention, and managing the drug utilization review (DUR) queue. This role creates outbound communications and responds to inbound inquiries from pet parents and veterinary clinics. The Clinical Support Pharmacist is expected to support all pharmacy locations remotely.
This is a full-time, remote position which will require
open availability between our hours of operation of 5 AM - 6 PM Pacific Time Monday-Saturday. Please note, candidates must be within 2 hours driving distance to our Portland Pharmacy (17014 NE Sandy Blvd in Portland, OR 97230). On-site presence expected only in rare or urgent circumstances.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Perform initial verification of new prescriptions
- Complete clinical drug utilization reviews and manage the DUR queue
- Verify controlled substance prescriptions for clinical appropriateness and regulatory compliance
- Work refill-too-soon queues and resolve related holds
- Investigate and resolve orders flagged for clinical intervention
- Handle inbound and outbound calls and consultations with pet parents, veterinarians, and clinic staff
- Work with veterinary staff to clarify phoned prescription authorizations and prescribing errors
- Support regulatory tasks, drug information resources, and staff education
WHAT YOU BRING- Current pharmacist license in good standing valid for the state in which you will be based
- B.S. or PharmD in Pharmacy
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal pharmacy rules and laws
- Accurate, efficient, and detail oriented approach to verification in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable, collaborative, and proactive problem solver
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid computer skills including the ability to navigate new programs quickly
- Ability to adapt and self-direct in response to changing needs and deadlines
Preferred Experience and Qualifications: - 1+ year of Vetsource experience
- 2+ years working as a licensed pharmacist
- Experience in a high volume dispensing environment
- Experience in the veterinary industry, including compounding
WORKING CONDITIONS- Reliable, remote internet access is required
- Sitting/standing at a desk working on a computer for long periods of time

Pay Range (US based applicants): $60.00 - $63.00 / hour
