Consulting Engineer - Industrial Regulatory is responsible for offering independent advice on engineering, science and/or other related topics to companies and government organizations. The Consulting Engineer position assists in providing efficient services to clients and independently conducts on and offsite evaluations to determine specific solutions for each customer. This position will travel at least 25% of the time.
Salary & Benefits InformationThe base wage or salary range for this position is $100,000 - $145,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. What you'll do:- Identify, Research, Apply, and Communicate requirements of National codes and standards.
- Guide and Advise customers through the Certification process and help them achieve their regulatory and safety goals.
- Identify required product testing, develop test plans, and prepare products to meet third-party test requirements.
- Conduct detailed Design Reviews; Review products for compliance with standard requirements, identify potential gaps in compliance, document the results.
- Perform technical assessments and analysis of specifications of projects and implement necessary solutions.
- Provide specialized "expertise" in several product categories, i.e., become subject matter expert.
- Lead client meetings, facilitate technical discussions, provide training classes.
- Provide sales support for any and all product requirements including direct customer presentations.
- Supply information for quotes such as costs, project duration, resources and samples required, and standards that will be used.
- Communicate project status to client, sales personnel, and management throughout project.
- Play a variety of roles depending on projects, such as technical advisor, scientific researcher, project champion, project manager, among others.
- Identify project needs and requirements for effective resource planning and meeting client's expectations.
- Delegate tasks to other team members to make sure the project is completed on a timely basis.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 5+ years of directly related experience; preference towards electrical, machinery, regulatory, safety, or compliance experience
- Experience with UL, CSA, and IEC standards to demonstrate NRTL, CE marking and other regulatory compliance schemes
- Previous experience with Datacenter and Power Distribution standards is a plus, including UL 2755, UL 1741, UL 857, UL 9540, UL 508A
- Understanding of Datacenter Technology, Energy Systems, and challenges of fast-to-market requirements
- Strong understanding of Hazard Based Safety Engineering principles
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- A valid driver's license and reliable driving record

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:- Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- PMP® - Certified Project Management Professional
- CMSE® - Certified Machinery Safety Expert
- PE License
- Experience commissioning of large-scale projects, especially within the datacenter or energy space is a plus
