Full Job Description
Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Reliability Manager to drive reliability and process improvements for the Natchitoches Engineered Wood Products manufacturing site located in Natchitoches, LA. The Reliability Manager is responsible for all elements of the reliability plan, including Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, PM optimization, oil analysis, vibration, infrared thermal imaging, alignment, balancing, and lubrication. The Reliability Manager is expected to be a role model in our safety standards and on-the-job behavior by living our core principles of integrity; fairness, creating a positive, inclusive work environment, and ensuring open communication among leaders and associates. This role reports to the Mill Manager and is a member of the Leadership Team.

Key Functions:
  • Assists with the development and uses tools for measuring reliability of plant or mill operating processes including machinery or equipment and other process components. Responsible for overall SMP results.
  • May conduct or participate in value proposition meetings, skill assessments and audits to determine largest areas of opportunity for improvement, and what is needed to improve in those areas.
  • Utilizes data to identify constraints and works with a cross-functional team to elevate and resolve the constraints.
  • Conducts analyses to determine process reliability and optimum "run speeds" considering factors such as maintainability, product quality, machine downtime, availability of materials, and overall production cost.
  • Assists with leading the reliability culture of the mill and continuous improvement. Recommends improvements based on analysis work.
  • Responsible for executing training, coaching, and continuously monitoring leaders and associates to improve implementation of reliability and standard manufacturing practices.
  • Participates in root cause analysis, and partner with operations and maintenance to improve processes and equipment.
  • Works with the capital management leaders to execute reliability and maintainability process.
  • Maintains open communications and dialogue with corporate and mill reliability personnel.
  • Engages with team members across maintenance and operations to understand opportunities, problem solve, and develop sustainable & reliable solutions.
  • Proficy downtime tracking and reporting.
  • Metrics tracking Performance after start-up, uptime, recurrence rate of issues, process reliability, PM completion rate, & Work Order backlog
  • Best Practice Replication; Innovation encouragement among team members
  • Implementation of equipment improvements/replacements
  • Continuous improvement efforts involving preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Problem solving to maximize facility improvements in safety, housekeeping, waste reduction, quality, productivity and cost
  • SOPs documented, updated and incorporate BPs from benchmarking
  • Committed availability for after-hours call-out as needed to support continued, efficient operation of mill
  • Support training and development plans to improve skills, knowledge & team performance
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Facilitate implementation of goals and objectives and achieve buy-in and support.

Qualifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of Reliability experience in lieu of a BS-Engineering related degree
  • Business leadership skills and understanding of site vision, strategy, goals and targets
  • Strong relationships with production & maintenance team and leaders
  • Down day planning, scheduling & execution
  • Meeting corporate safety standards (HSE, LOTO, RADAR)
  • Ability to determine condition of equipment
  • Ability to lead and direct installation of new equipment
  • Maintenance Process Improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Understands manufacturing process and knowledgeable in the areas of electrical, mechanical and basic PLC programming
  • Strong decision and problem-solving skills
  • Able to lead and execute assigned Reliability activities

  • A willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment, which may include weekend and holiday support as conditions required.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Strong financial acumen skills with experience in the development and management of budgets.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and other windows-based programs.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of working in an industrial environment, such as climbing stairs and working in extreme heat and cold
  • A current resume or detailed list of experience and education is required for consideration
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in wood products manufacturing (EWP, OSB, or Lumber)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Application and knowledge of LEAN manufacturing tools.
  • Experience with Maximo and/or SAP.
  • Certified Reliability Leadership designation.


What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $82,500-$123,800 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
