Job Summary
We are seeking a Release Engineer to support cloud deployment, release engineering, and infrastructure automation initiatives in Azure-based environments. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient application releases. The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure, Terraform, CI/CD automation, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines with integrated security and quality controls.
• Provision, configure, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Lead and execute cloud release engineering activities, ensuring secure and reliable deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
• Serve as a quality gatekeeper by validating infrastructure and application releases for compliance with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with development, QA, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful software releases.
• Monitor release activities, troubleshoot deployment issues, and implement process improvements.
• Communicate release status, risks, issues, and deployment updates to technical and business stakeholders.
• Support cloud infrastructure management across Azure and AWS environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cloud architecture and release engineering best practices.
• Maintain release documentation, deployment procedures, and operational standards.
Required Qualifications
• 0-5+ years of experience in release engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification or equivalent AWS certification.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and cloud deployment practices.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Git workflows and version control best practices.
• Understanding of programming and scripting concepts.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (AZ-140) certification.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) certification.
• HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification.
• Experience supporting AWS cloud environments.
• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring team members and supporting cloud architecture initiatives.
Certifications
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) - Required.
• AWS Certification (Equivalent) - Accepted in place of AZ-104.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (AZ-140) - Preferred.
