Full Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the booking, processing, validation, and analysis of Property and Casualty treaty reinsurance transactions, ensuring activity is completed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Set up, maintain, and validate treaty agreements in reinsurance systems, including contract terms, sections, layers, participants, currencies, commissions, limits, retentions, and effective dates.
  • Process and analyze treaty premium, commission, and loss activity; monitor attachment points, limits, reinstatements, aggregates, and other key contract provisions.
  • Apply and document treaty allocation methodologies across legal entities, profit centers, underwriting units, and international operations to support consistent transaction processing.
  • Research and resolve treaty processing issues, including contract setup, coding, data mapping, premium and loss allocation, attachment, recoverable, and bordereau discrepancies.
  • Validate data flowing between underwriting, policy, claims, and reinsurance systems; identify exceptions and coordinate corrections with Operations, Underwriting, Claims, IT, and Actuarial teams.
  • Partner with underwriting leaders and treaty stakeholders to interpret contract terms, confirm intended system treatment, and support accurate and timely processing.
  • Develop and maintain processing controls, exception reports, and data-quality checks that improve the completeness and accuracy of treaty bookings.
  • Prepare inception-to-date treaty experience exhibits and operational analyses to identify trends, unusual activity, missing data, and opportunities for corrective action.
  • Respond to broker, reinsurer, underwriting, claims, and internal stakeholder inquiries by researching treaty terms, transaction history, and supporting data.
  • Review potential treaty recoverables and processing exceptions, determine root causes, and recommend improvements to workflows, controls, and system functionality.
  • Perform treaty coding and system setup for Property and Multinational business, including new placements, renewals, amendments, commutations, and changes in participation.
  • Serve as a treaty reinsurance processing subject matter expert for system enhancements, data conversions, testing, automation, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support management with operational analysis, backlog management, process documentation, special projects, and business initiatives as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, risk management, finance, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of insurance or reinsurance experience, including significant hands-on responsibility for treaty reinsurance booking, contract setup, transaction processing, and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of treaty reinsurance structures and terminology, including proportional and excess-of-loss contracts, layers, retentions, limits, commissions, reinstatements, aggregates, and participations.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with reinsurance administration and processing systems; proficiency with RiPro or Sapiens Reinsurance is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret treaty contract terms, translate them into system setup and processing requirements, resolve transaction discrepancies, and improve operational controls.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns, exceptions, and root causes within complex treaty data.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain treaty terms, processing issues, and analytical findings to underwriting and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience in URS, RiPro, FSRI or other structured reinsurance system preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and presentation.
  • Experience with data validation, operational reporting, system testing, and process improvement within a treaty reinsurance environment.
  • CPCU and/or ARe professional designations preferred, but not required.
  • Highly self-motivated, capable of managing multiple priorities independently, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,00 - $145,000
