This role analyzes business and technical requirements and translates them into scalable, secure, supportable, and high-quality solution designs. The Technical Architect provides technical leadership throughout the implementation lifecycle, from discovery and architecture definition through development, testing, deployment, and transition to production support.

The successful candidate will collaborate with reinsurance subject matter experts, business analysts, project managers, developers, infrastructure teams, data specialists, and client stakeholders. The role requires a strong combination of application architecture experience, hands-on software delivery knowledge, and familiarity with reinsurance systems and processes.

Direct experience with DXC SICS is strongly preferred.

Essential Job Functions
  • Serve as the technical architecture lead for reinsurance software implementations, upgrades, migrations, integrations, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Analyze business, functional, nonfunctional, security, data, and operational requirements to define the appropriate technical solution.
  • Translate reinsurance business requirements into detailed solution architectures, application designs, integration specifications, and technical implementation plans.
  • Define the end-to-end architecture across application components, interfaces, data flows, infrastructure, security, reporting, batch processing, and operational support.
  • Design solutions involving DXC SICS or comparable reinsurance administration platforms.
  • Collaborate with reinsurance business consultants and subject matter experts to ensure the proposed solution supports treaty, facultative, accounting, claims, reporting, and operational requirements.
  • Partner with project managers to estimate technical effort, identify dependencies, develop implementation plans, and manage architecture-related risks.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to software developers, integration specialists, data migration teams, testers, and other technical contributors.
  • Lead technical design reviews and ensure that development deliverables align with approved architecture, coding standards, security requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Define integration patterns between reinsurance platforms and surrounding systems, including policy administration, claims, finance, general ledger, data warehouses, reporting solutions, and external services.
  • Develop data migration and conversion strategies in partnership with functional and data teams, including mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and cutover requirements.
  • Assess current-state technology environments and identify architecture gaps, technical risks, modernization opportunities, and recommended remediation actions.
  • Design solutions that meet requirements for scalability, performance, availability, maintainability, security, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support application configuration, custom development, interface development, and technical troubleshooting throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Establish technical environments and deployment requirements in coordination with infrastructure, cloud, database, security, and DevOps teams.
  • Define technical testing requirements and support system integration testing, performance testing, security testing, user acceptance testing, and production-readiness reviews.
  • Investigate complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and guide teams in implementing effective solutions.
  • Support implementation cutover, production deployment, stabilization, and transition to application support teams.
  • Create and maintain architecture diagrams, interface specifications, data-flow models, deployment designs, technical standards, decision logs, and operational documentation.
  • Communicate technical concepts, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to client proposals, implementation estimates, solution demonstrations, statements of work, and technical presentations when required.
  • Promote reusable architecture patterns, delivery standards, and continuous improvement across reinsurance implementation projects.
