The Rehabilitation Operations Manager supports the Senior Director/Director of Rehabilitation Services by overseeing daily operational, clinical, and administrative functions within the inpatient rehabilitation department. Working under the direction of their designated leader and aligned with Orlando Health's system-wide clinical and operational standards, the Operations Manager ensures excellence in quality, patient experience, workflow efficiency, risk mitigation, and safety across assigned rehab departments. This position serves as a link between strategic leadership and clinical leaders/frontline teams, driving operational consistency and performance.This position will focus on the operations of the Inpatient Rehabilitation program, overseeing rehab therapists as well as office staff, including the case managers, clinical liaisons, PPS coordinator and authorizations coordinator. The rehabilitation operations manager will focus on daily throughput, staffing, admissions, interdisciplinary coordination, and performance management.

What you will do

 

  • Operational Leadership: Responsible for overall day-to-day operations including staffing, scheduling, productivity, resources, workflows, and patient flow. Able to manage complex workflows, staffing models and throughput. Responsible for ensuring compliance with timecard practices within assigned business unit per related policies. Oversees cost-efficient delivery of services, assisting with throughput targets, access improvement, and optimization of efficiency for multiple departments/locations. Responsible for maintaining standards for onboarding, training, and competency expectations in collaboration with department leadership and/or educators/clinical specialists.
  • Clinical Quality & Safety: Identifies clinical care gaps and collaborates with their leader to evaluate, develop, and update processes and standard operating procedures to improve care delivery. Strong understanding of clinical standards, risk management and compliance requirements allowing for conduction of investigation of any concerns regarding clinical services, compliance or risk. Coordinates quality, safety, regulatory, and infection-prevention initiatives in collaboration with appropriate departments. Ensures compliance with practice standards, documentation accuracy, accreditation requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Financial & Business Performance: Monitors expenses and analyzes operational data to improve efficiency and financial stewardship. Participates in budget development. Collaborates with their leader to create and execute improvement plans and participate in business planning and growth initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Culture: Coaches and supports supervisors and/or frontline team members to foster engagement, teamwork, performance accountability, and career growth. Responsible to provide oversite for job performance and behaviors standards in accordance with any related policies, addressing any issues per the performance and behavioral counseling procedures. Responsible for recruitment, hiring, coaching plans, and performance management processes as appropriate for the structure of the assigned business unit. This may include supervisors, clinical specialists, educators and front-line team.
  • Program Development & System Integration: Collaborates with their leader in program development and development of marketing plans. Supports organizational strategies by converting them into operational plans and tracking measurable outcomes. Builds strong relationships with nursing, medicine, care coordination, quality, administrative and corporate rehab teams.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Participates in corporate and divisional meetings, as well as community activities to promote Orlando Health across the enterprise.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a rehabilitation field.
  • Five (5) years of related experience to include two (2) years of supervisory or management experience within a rehabilitation setting.
  • Current license in the State of Florida as an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Audiologist or Speech Language Pathologist. If Speech Language Pathologist, must also have current Certificate of Clinical Competence.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
