JOB SUMMARY
Our Legal Department is seeking a talented and dynamic individual that is passionate about their work and is willing to take on new challenges. The Regulatory and Compliance Counsel will primarily provide legal advice on telecommunication licensing, regulatory filings, regulatory compliance, and operational regulatory issues, ensuring the timely filing of all federal, state, and local reports. Additionally, the Regulatory and Compliance Counsel will provide day-to-day legal support and advice to various internal clients, including training and contract management support. This position will report directly to the General Counsel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Lead and manage all regulatory filings, comments and responses with all federal, state and local agencies.
• Provide responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations or enforcement matters.
• Monitor, interpret and provide guidance on all regulatory developments for internal teams.
• Develop, maintain and improve all corporate compliance matters, including leading internal audit functions.
• Create and deliver regulatory and compliance program and training materials for internal teams.
• Perform other legal and strategic responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state and member in good standing.
• At least 5 years of telecommunications regulatory experience.
• Active knowledge for the filings of USF contributions, 499, BDC, TRS Fund, E911, access lines, CPNI, Robocall, traffic studies, e-rate, and all similar regulatory federal, state, and local filings.
• Familiarity with privacy laws, safety, cybersecurity, and related employment matters is preferrable.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
• Substantial legal experience within the telecommunications industry.

While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move around the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel up to 20%, particularly in multi-state or rapidly expanding telecommunications markets.
