Full Job Description
Position Overview

The Regulatory Associate role will be responsible for accelerating Gridware's market expansion by 1) investigating electric utility regulatory filings and associated documents; 2) conducting regulatory tracking and instituting; 3) Instituting and maintaining a process for regulatory information sharing to the company; 4) Identifying regulatory opportunities for the sales and customer-success teams; and 5) creating content to support regulatory filings for Gridware's customers. Gridware's products span a range of regulatory arenas and utility use-cases, this role will be responsible for understanding and communicating to internal teams, the relationship between Gridware's products and relevant regulatory proceedings.

Gridware's active utility customers require support for each of these respective regulatory proceedings and use cases, in the form of written content for testimony/filings or in the form of quantitative analysis to support requests for funding.

The ideal candidate has experience with public utility commission regulatory filing systems and proceeding protocols, a keen eye for detail, and patience to sift through regulatory dockets. Experience working with electric utilities or public utility commissions on risk, wildfire mitigation, resilience, reliability, distribution maintenance and planning, or similar areas is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Track and monitor regulatory proceedings to identify and communicate relevant information and opportunities for our utility customers and Gridware.


  • Work closely with Gridware's customer success, sales, data, and R&D teams to produce materials and analysis for educating customers and regulators.


  • Support the filing requests of our utility customers as-need.


  • Participate in relevant industry working groups, panels, webinars, etc.


  • Support internal and customer grant writing on an as-needed basis.


Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in energy, engineering, public policy, economics, or related field.


  • 3+ years of relevant experience.


  • Policy and market expertise at the intersection of technology, utilities, and the grid with a focus on public utility regulation.


  • Strong analytical and communication abilities to translate extremely technical & complex topics to non-technical cross-functional stakeholders.


  • A passion for climate technology and a keen interest in the energy industry


Bonus Skills

  • MS, MPP, or related Masters


  • Direct experience working at or with a public utility commission


  • Direct experience working at or with an electric utility


$100,000 - $130,000 a year
