Position Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Emergency Services, the successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

Mandatory Qualifications
  • Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • 2 years of acute care experience within the last 5 years required
  • Current B.C.L.S. Certificate
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation Certification (or will obtain within 6 months of employment)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current PEARS Certificate

Mandatory Competencies
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent patient assessment skills, successful completion of the Patient Assessment course an asset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skills
  • Proven ability to organize workload in a fast paced constantly changing environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professionalism in nursing
  • Able to perform venipuncture, 12/15 Lead ECG
  • Meditech experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and experience in patient education
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Must be able to function within your full scope of practice as an RPN
