Wound / Ostomy RN to champion specialized patient care across our facility. In this role, you will enjoy a high degree of professional autonomy, utilizing evidence-based practices to guide patients through life-changing medical transitions. You will act as a trusted clinical consultant, an empathetic educator, and a critical bridge between patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
What You'll Do- Design Specialized Care Plans: Develop and lead highly customized, evidence-based clinical protocols for patients navigating stomas, complex wounds, and pressure ulcers.
- Empower Through Education: Conduct comprehensive preoperative and postoperative instructional sessions, providing patients and families with the confidence, coaching, and tools they need for successful self-care.
- Consult & Collaborate: Partner directly with physicians and fellow nursing staff, serving as the resident expert on enterostomal and wound treatments, procedures, and product selection.
- Deliver Lifespan-Specific Care: Apply specialized knowledge of human growth and development to deliver optimal, age-appropriate treatments tailored to our diverse patient populations.
- Practice Autonomously: Function independently while remaining a fierce advocate for the patient's rights, emotional well-being, and overall safety.

Hourly Pay Rate: $36.94 - $54.49QualificationsEducation:- Requires a bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience:- Requires a minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in Ostomy/Wound care or 3 years clinical nursing experience.
Certification/Licensure:- Must have a current, valid Arizona RN license, compact RN license, or Nurse Practitioner license.
- A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months.
- Must obtain wound care certification or equivalent from an accredited national organization such as National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO) and/or Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNB) within 12 months from date of hire and maintain certification. WOCN certification is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Must demonstrate effective problem solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to remain calm and customer focused during stressful situations.
- Requires computer literacy, facilitation skills, ability to handle multiple complex projects, excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management skills, leadership skills, critical thinking, SBAR communication model.
- Must demonstrate compliance of Valleywise Health policies and procedures, standards of care, and documentation in practice.
- Must be able to model professional behavior as evidenced by adherence to attendance.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
- Bilingual skills are helpful.
