Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager Qualifications- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Current, Unencumbered New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- Current AHA BLS CPR Certification recommended
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) may be considered
- Strong leader with 3+ years of experience in subacute/long-term care required
Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager Responsibilities- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs nursing services for residents on the assigned unit
- Reviews complaints and grievances made or filed by staff and makes appropriate reports to the Director of Nursing as required or necessary
- Ensures an adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., is maintained on the unit at all times to adequately meet resident needs and notifies appropriate personnel of needs
- Manages staff, makes nursing/aide assignments, and conducts nursing rounds throughout the shift and as needed
- Provides education, as needed, to staff, residents, and resident family members
- Assists in the development of written preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the nursing needs of each resident
- Tracks treatments and patient progress according to HIPAA guidelines
- Coordinates with supervising physicians to ensure a smooth recovery process for residents
- Ensures staff are performing all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines
- Other duties as assigned by Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, or Administrator
