Urgent Care ClinicThe Urgent Care Clinic provides timely, low-barrier access to specialized mental health care. An interdisciplinary team delivers assessment, brief intervention, and stabilization supports for individuals in crisis. The clinic aims to reduce pressure on emergency departments and enhance continuity of care across the system. Services are delivered in close collaboration with partners, including police, paramedics, and local emergency departments.
Qualifications:- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Up to 3 months Nursing Experience
- Knowledge of mental health/addiction issues
- Clear understanding of MHA and relevant legislation
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in psychiatric nursing practice as articulated in the Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice.
- Knowledge of mental health/addiction issues with specific knowledge about physical/medical compilations related to mental health and addictions
- Able to meet the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses
- CPR certification within the last 12 months (BCLS at a minimum)
- Evidence of continuing professional education
- Effective verbal and written communications skills
- Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Problem solving, leadership and management skills in responding to complex and rapidly changing situations
- Sensitivity, skills and experience working with diverse individuals and communities
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression/comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. French level A- is mandatory in oral expression and oral comprehension.
Preferred Qualifications:- BScN
- Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- Experience in Mental Health and/or addictions
- Membership and active participation in a professional nursing organization (RNAO)
- Maintain workload measurement and date collection as required
- CBT and MI training
Salary Range: 41.15 to 58.98 per hour
