Why does the job exist?

The Registered Nurse Supervisor will:
  • Provide clinical expertise for Medicaid Long-Term Care (LTC) programs;
  • Oversee the Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE);
  • Conduct clinical reviews and audits;
  • Review reports;
  • Represent Medical Assistance Division (MAD) on several cross-agency work groups and committees.


How does it get done?

The Registered Nurse Supervisor is responsible for:
  • Providing clinical expertise on the Medicaid LTC, CB and NF Programs;
  • Collaborating with other departments, Managed Care Organizations (MCO), LTC providers and Medical Assistance Division (MAD) staff to develop and implement program improvements;
  • Attending, facilitating, and presenting at LTC meetings;
  • Representing Long Term Services and Support Bureau (LTSSB) at multi departmental NF Internal Dispute Resolution, Mortality Review and Joint Protocol meetings;
  • Reviewing and analyzing MCO reports, including Report 8 for tracking Nursing Facility Level of Care (NF LOC), Report 20 on disease management and the PCS DSIPT report;
  • Collaborating with Quality Bureau on the HCBS CAHPs Survey, HSD quality metrics and MCO performance improvement projects.

Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate has:
  • Knowledge of the New Mexico Medicaid program and Long-Term Care;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Experience with contract oversight and provider compliance;
  • Experience in working independently and with different systems.


Minimum Qualification

Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and five (5) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Must obtain a Defensive driving certification.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
