Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Nursing; BSN required within 5 years if initially hired with an Associate's Degree.
• 1 year of experience as an RN in Critical Care; completion of a critical care fellowship may substitute experience requirement.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association; ACLS or PALS may be required within 6 months, depending on unit.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia as an RN; active multi-state RN license acceptable.
• Strong communication skills, innovative mindset, and flexibility to support various units.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient health assessments by integrating diverse data sets.
• Develop individualized care plans based on assessments and patient population trends.
• Coordinate resources across disciplines to support patient transitions and outcomes.
• Document all patient care activities according to standard procedures.
• Review care processes and adjust plans based on patient variances to maintain optimal outcomes.
• Utilize clinical judgment in decision-making while fostering skill development in team members.
• Pursue continuous professional development with at least six formal contact hours yearly.
