Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to join our Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) team at Hillside Centre in Kamloops, BC. About the Job
The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides:
Nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
Maintains and advances own clinical competence
Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned

RPNs/RNs in Tertiary Care work in conjunction with other members of the interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, SWs, OTs, psychology, as well as community mental health.

We are looking for a self-directed, motivated, reliable and flexible mental health-trained nurse (RN/RPN) who enjoys working in a team environment and has a strong desire to learn. If you are experienced in Mental Health or Substance Use, we want to hear from you!

This is a Relief Full Time (1.00) opportunity until April 13, 2028 or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

About this Location
Hillside Centre is an acute tertiary mental health facility located in Kamloops that provides care for persons aged 19 years and older. We provide highly specialized mental health services for individuals with complex and severe mental illnesses including neurocognitive disorders. The focus is on diagnosis and stabilization with rehabilitation strategies to promote stabilization and reintegration into the community to return home We have a total of 47 beds comprised of 12 geriatric beds, 12 provincial neuropsychiatric beds and 23 adult beds.

Our experienced team of physicians, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, recreational therapists and support workers treat our patients through a trauma-informed lens to provide the best possible outcome for them. Qualfications
Graduation from an approved school of nursing and two years' recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Current valid BC Drivers License
