When the novel coronavirus pandemic began in 2020 and a dedicated COVID-19 medical-surgical unit was needed, the first choice by senior leadership was 10 Tower. This has been a challenge that we have met with open arms and open minds. Throughout this experience, 10 Tower staff is now regarded as the content experts for COVID-19 patients. We have gained hands-on experience on materials and conditions that have made our staff even more versatile and invaluable to Atrium Health.
10T Medical Telemetry is a recipient of the PRISM award (
Premier
Recognition
in the
Specialty of
Med/Surg) from the Academy of Medical/Surgical Nurses, given to outstanding acute care or Med/Surg units or adult/pediatric units classified as med/surg. It is a medical telemetry unit that provides inpatient care 24 hours a day to the adult population - 18 and up. Adult patients are admitted with acute medical and/or surgical conditions, many with multiple co- morbidities. The care is delivered for a wide range of diagnoses, some of these include COPD, diabetes, chest pain, shortness of breath, pneumonia, fever of unknown etiology and fluid & electrolyte imbalances. 10T also has the capacity for telemetry monitors up to 16 patients and administers/monitors several cardiac drips.
We're Looking For: - Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- 6 months of experience as a RN
What You'll Do: - As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
