Full Job Description
The Medical-Neuro ICU is a 16 bed adult inpatient unit caring for critically ill medical and neuro-science patients. We provide care to patients with a wide range of complex, highly acute medical/neuro issues utilizing a variety of advanced technologies and devices including CRRT, monitoring intracranial pressures, brain tissue oxygenation and hemo-dynamic monitoring. Our patient population include but are not limited to; respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver injury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, drug/alcohol withdrawal, stroke, head/spinal cord trauma and brain hemorrhage. RNs in this specialty also must have a family-centered approach because of the critical nature of our patients. We also work closely with our Critical Care Pulmonologist, Neuro-intensivist, Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to provide the highest quality of care for our patients.
