This position supports Venture Forthe's Person Care Aide Training Program, which allow us to certify and hire Personal Care Aides (PCAs) in this region allowing more individuals to remain in their homes and be part of their community.
What You'll Do:
- Teach the NYS PCA certification classes in Syracuse and Binghamton.
- Assist in developing, updating and maintaining training material and curriculum for PCAs as needed.
- Assist in the agency's continuing education/in-service program and field competency testing of all clinical staff.
- Conduct field competency testing for clinical staff in accordance with NYS Department of Health regulations
- Potentially oversee, coordinate, and directly supervise paraprofessional staff and private duty/shift nursing services
- Provide individualized remediation and tutoring support to trainees who require additional assistance
- Conduct ongoing progress checks throughout training to identify learning gaps early
- This position's primary responsibility is to teach and train PCA. When there is no classes the trainer will support the Venture Forthe Field Nursing Team.

Requirements
What You'll Bring:
- Licensed and registered professional nurse (RN) in New York State
- At least one (1) year of home healthcare experience (Department of Health Requirement)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school (diploma, bachelor's, or master's degree)
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
- Strong understanding of the scope of practice for both professional and paraprofessional healthcare providers
- Valid Driver's License and access to private reliable transportation
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to teach, coach, and engage learners of varying experience levels
- Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- One (1) year of education or instructional experience is preferred
Salary Description
$40 to $45/ hour
