Job Description

The RN Designee will report to the Supervisor of Assisted Living Services Agency (SALSA). This position is a non-exempt, hourly position.

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Assisted Living Services Agency (SALSA), the principal purpose of this position is to act in the absence of the SALSA.

Schedule: This is a full-time, salaried position.

Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 Yearly

Qualifications

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Coordinating and managing all nursing and assisted living team members providing direct care of assisted living services
  • Makes recommendations to the SALSA regarding staffing levels and participates in recruitment, selection, and orientation of new team members
  • Determines daily assignments to assure that residents' needs are met
  • Assures compliance with all Federal and State regulations
  • Conducts assessments, as often as necessary based on the resident's condition but not more than every one-hundred and twenty (120) days
  • Participates in the QA program under the direction of the SALSA
  • Orders, stores, administers, documents, and disposes of medications as per Federal, State, and Agency regulations
  • Participates in the RN on-call coverage with the SALSA, as determined by the community
  • Coordinates ancillary support services for residents
  • Provides competency training for all client care aides with return demonstration
  • Serves as a liaison to families, health care agencies, emergency response teams, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers
  • Provides first aid as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Current Connecticut Registered Nurse License
  • Minimum of two (2) years full time or full time equivalent clinical experience in nursing, at least one (1) year of which shall be in a home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) with the ability to learn new applications
  • Physical Abilities
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
  • An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 50 lbs. Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents. The associate must use proper body mechanics.
