Position Description

Metro Nashville Public Health (MPHD) is seeking an energetic and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Occupational Health and Wellness Clinic team. This clinic is responsible for conducting periodic or annual medical evaluations on current employees of the Metropolitan Nashville Government, as well as, post-offer evaluations for applicants. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Salary is based on proof of Highest Education per below:
  • Associate $79,332.00
  • Bachelor $81,642.00
  • Master $83953.00

Typical Duties

  • Assists with pre-employment and periodic examinations of employees of the Metropolitan Government.
  • Works within a high-volume clinic operation which requires a high degree of flexibility for the delivery of quality patient services.
  • Participates in professional development programs and self-development activities.
  • Consults with colleagues and supervisory staff as needed, and collaborates with other disciplines in patient care and health promotion activities.
  • May be assigned to different clinic/work locations as needed.
  • Will draw blood for testing.
  • Will administer vaccines.
  • Will perform, do Electrocardiograms (ECG or EKG).
  • Will perform do vision/hearing testing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma or Associate's Degree in nursing. Candidates with Diploma or Associate's Degree in nursing must establish a documented ability to competently perform all functions of this classification to be considered. Bachelor's degree from a state-approved school of nursing preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee. Applicants holding a Registered Nurse license from a state that participates in the "Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact" may be hired, but must obtain their Tennessee license within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
  • All public health nurses are required to complete a department approved Certificate in Public Health as a condition of continued employment. Possess required competencies upon hiring.

    Valid class "D" driver's license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.

Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Governments employment-based immigration programs.
