Job Title: Registered Nurse - PACU

License: Registered Nurse (RN)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS

Must-Have:
Critical care experience and competencies with ICU cases, including hemodynamic drips and ventilated patients.
Comfortable with pre-operative, recovery, and discharge of patients.
Ability to manage boarded patients if hospital census is full.
Competency in IV insertion, ventilator training, epidural/PCA setup/initiation, and blood product transfusions.
Ability to administer and monitor moderate sedation.

Description:
The position involves working in a clinical setting with a patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics.
You will be responsible for preparing and discharging patients, although intra-operative work is not required.
Patient ratios are 1:2-3 in the Pre-Op area and 1:1 or 1:2 in the PACU, depending on patient acuity levels.
Orientation includes one week of facility orientation followed by one day in each department: PreOp, PACU, Phase II, and Endo.
Call rotations are required every 2-3 weeks, including weekend responsibilities.
Holiday coverage is also expected as part of the call rotation.
A sleep room and other options are available for on-call staff.
Support is provided by nurse aides and resource nurses throughout the department.
Charting is done using an electronic system, and familiarity with this system is preferred.
