Registered Nurse - PACU

$34.78 - $54.93 an hour - Full-Time Days, 32 hours per week
+$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.
Boulder Community Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for PACU who coordinates total nursing care for the peri-operative procedure patient.

Qualifications:
• Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required by end of conditional period.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within conditional period.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire for all PACU RN's required to participate in on-call rotation. Those RN's with a secondary job code are not required to take on call shifts.
• Member of professional organization encouraged.
• Certification encouraged.
Responsibilities:
• Provides safe, competent, effective nursing care in accordance with hospital, OCC/PACUs standards of care, policies and procedures. When applicable, employees must be able to adjust the essential functions they perform appropriately to the age of their patient/customer.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of care of the peri-operative/procedure patient.
• Assesses patient status systematically and anticipates and responds to changes in patient clinical condition. Reports pertinent observations or changes to appropriate physicians and/or clinical lead and implements emergency procedures as necessary.
• Demonstrates knowledge of arrhythmia recognition and treatment modalities.
• Administers medications and performs treatments as ordered.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation.
• Ability to assess, treat and/or care for patients with regard to age. PACU treats infant to geriatric.
• Actively seeks the participation of members of the health care team and patient's family to ensure continuity of care.
• Prepares specimens and lab forms for laboratory analysis.
