Operating Room RN for NEBH’s hospital-licensed Ambulatory Surgery Center at 1 Brookline Place is a high-performing outpatient facility specializing in same-day surgical care. The ASC features four fully equipped operating rooms and is designed to support high-volume procedures with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and exceptional patient experience.

This state-of-the-art center offers a dynamic and collaborative environment for clinicians committed to excellence in perioperative care, patient safety, and continuous improvement. Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Practice
  • Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care while exercising sound clinical judgment throughout the surgical experience.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care in accordance with NEBH standards, policies, and evidence-based practice.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Maintain strict adherence to patient identification, confidentiality, and HIPAA requirements.

  • Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses and intervening appropriately.

  • Advocate for patients and promote patient safety throughout the perioperative continuum.

Documentation & Coordination
  • Accurately and timely document patient care in accordance with NEBH and departmental policies.

  • Coordinate care with ancillary departments to support efficient surgical workflow.

  • Ensure proper specimen collection, labeling, and handling following patient identification protocols.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and members of the healthcare team.

Safety, Compliance & Infection Prevention
  • Maintain NEBH Clinical Nursing competencies.

  • Adhere to infection prevention standards, including hand hygiene, sterile technique, and safe handling of biohazardous materials.

  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and prepared for patient care.

  • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.

  • Comply with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission, OSHA, and Fire Safety requirements.

Professional Development
  • Maintain required licensure, certifications, and mandatory education.

  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

  • Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Requirements
Education

Pay Range:

$37.00 - $95.37

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geographyof work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
