Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Coordinator Neonatal Program provides leadership and promotes excellence on patient care for neonatal conditions. This position's responsibilities include Performance Improvement activities, chart review, gap identification, change implementation, daily patient rounds, policy and protocol review, and nursing education. In addition, ability to abstract information from identified high risk patient medical records as needed. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the registry, verification and updating of information compiled and preparing reports as requested. In addition, the program manager will serve as the primary key contact for the facilities Neonatal Level III program.
What qualifications you will need:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
Required: Associate Degree in Nursing & a minimum of three years of experience in NICU nurse.
Preferred: Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing, previous experience as NICU Clinical Nurse Coordinator
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
Required: Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.FT/PT/PRN colleagues with a compact license from a state other than Texas must:
BLS Certification
NRP certification

- Be a clinically active and practicing registered nurse participating in neonatal care
- Have the ability to collect, interpret and analyze data. Have the ability to apply critical thinking skills to process improvement and decision-making. Have the ability to cope effectively with crisis and emergency situations. Strong and effective communication skills. Have the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and encourage team-building efforts. Knowledge of general hospital operations.

- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
