Full Job Description
Responsibilities*
  • Provide the delivery of culturally sensitive, age-specific team-based care models in delivering nursing care for Primary Care patients including, adult medicine, pediatric, and OB/GYN patient populations at Brighton Health Center, East Ann Arbor Health Center, East Ann Arbor Geriatrics, & Howell Health Center ACU?s.
  • Perform phone triage, including assessment, screening, clinical advice, nurse visits (in person/ video visit) in-clinic hands on procedures, and other duties assigned.
  • Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care.
  • Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources.
  • Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel; collaborate with colleagues, other disciplines, and health care/community services to promote continuity of care.

  • Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.
  • Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Willingness to adapt to different populations ie: pediatrics, OB/GYN, adult medicine as patient demands. Orientation and training would be provided for new subspecialties within primary care based on expansion of division.

Required Qualifications*
  • Valid Michigan RN license
  • Three (3) yrs. (out of the last 7 years) of RN experience in Adult Internal Medicine (to include Adult Inpatient, or Emergency Services, or Ambulatory Care Medicine Adult).
  • And one of the following: One (1) year of OB/Gyn RN experience in Ambulatory Care, Labor and Delivery -OR- One (1) year of Pediatric RN experience.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Modes of Work

Work Schedule

Hours/Week: 40 hours per week
Shift/Hours/Days: Monday-Friday. Hours variable based on nurse schedule.
Location: Brighton Health Center, East Ann Arbor Health Center, East Ann Arbor Geriatrics, & Howell Health Center with the potential to work in other locations with the expansion of the division.

NOTE: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
