Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Experience managing and treating mental health patients required.
• Preferred two years of direct nursing experience.
• Competence in crisis intervention and medical emergencies mandatory.
• Ability to work independently in nursing diagnoses and follow-up care.
• Proficient in relevant computer software used by the department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and medical histories for detainees.
• Assist physicians with screenings and minor surgical procedures.
• Implement and ensure physician's orders are followed and medications are dispensed correctly.
• Perform observation rounds and document findings regarding patient progress.
• Maintain security while administering medications and avoid involvement in facility security issues.
• Prepare various reports and ensure compliance with industry and company policies.
• Coordinate scheduling for the Chronic Disease Clinic.
• Supervise and provide performance input for Licensed Practical Nurse staff.
• Document all detainee contacts and maintain medical record confidentiality.
