Responsibilities*- Provide expert nursing care to Nephrology patients in the outpatient clinics.
- Provide telephone triage, patient teaching, direct patient care including injections, documentation with follow-up and coordination with ancillary services and related departments.
- Provide functional supervision to allied health staff.
- Assist with patient flow as necessary and appropriate.
- Work with licensed providers to develop and carry out clinical standards of care for various patient diagnoses.
- Participate as a professional member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Teach patients and families pertinent information regarding the patient condition and treatment plans.
- Coordinate infusion therapies.
- Assist in orientation of team members as appropriate, including observation and participation of patient care activities.
- Actively participate and support performance improvement activities related to self, clinic, department, and institutional goals and objectives.
- Take live patient calls associated with Nurse Answer line.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications*- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan (RN).
- Two (2) years out of the last five (5) years of RN experience performing dialysis or CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) for adult medicine patients with acute or chronic conditions.
- Proficiency with MiChart including inbasket management or documentation of patient encounters in electronic health record, e.g., Epic as indicated by interviews, references, and/or performance evaluations in past two (2) out of the last five (5) years of RN experience.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by interviews, evaluations, and references education in the past two (2) out of the last five (5) years of RN experience.
