Job Description

General Physician is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient-centered Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to join our outpatient nutrition team. The RDN will provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling, education, and ongoing support to patients managing a variety of chronic health conditions and nutrition-related concerns. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical nutrition skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to evidence-based, individualized care. Experience with diabetes, weight management, cardiovascular disease, renal disease, gastrointestinal conditions, and metabolic health, is highly valued.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, including review of medical history, laboratory values, medications, dietary intake, lifestyle factors, and nutrition-related concerns.
  • Develop individualized nutrition care plans based on each patient's medical needs, goals, preferences, culture, and readiness for change.
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and individualized nutrition counseling in an outpatient setting.
  • Provide nutrition education for the prevention and management of chronic diseases, including: Diabetes and prediabetes, Obesity and weight management, Cardiovascular disease, Chronic kidney disease, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Gastrointestinal disorders, Metabolic health concerns, Food allergies and intolerances, Other nutrition-related conditions


  • Support patients using medications that may affect nutrition, appetite, weight, or metabolic health, including GLP-1 receptor agonist medications, when appropriate and within scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify nutrition interventions based on clinical outcomes and patient response.
  • Educate patients on practical strategies for meal planning, behavior change, label reading, portion awareness, supplementation, and sustainable lifestyle changes.
  • Evaluate the use of dietary supplements and identify potential nutrition-medication interactions or safety concerns.
  • Document assessments, interventions, follow-up plans, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with organizational and professional standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient education programs, staff education, and other department activities as appropriate.
  • Maintain current knowledge of nutrition research, clinical guidelines, emerging therapies, and best practices in outpatient nutrition care
